1.1 - Overview

EDEN, the Emergency Disaster Engagement Network, is a comprehensive emergency management system created by Starfleet Research and Development. Designed to handle a wide range of emergencies, EDEN is capable of addressing hull breaches, fires, medical crises, and hostile intrusions. This system is not just a collection of protocols and automated responses; it is a dynamic, adaptive network that prioritizes threats, allocates resources, and coordinates efforts across the ship.

One of EDEN's standout features is its ability to integrate seamlessly with the ship’s systems, providing real-time solutions and guidance. The project would have been extended to other vessels were it not for the unfortunate attack on the Mars shipyards in 2385. Project EDEN, along with many other initiatives, were quickly mothballed in order to favor redeploying and restructuring the fleet. Following the Borg incursion of 2400 and the Borg/Changeling attack of 2401, Project EDEN was pulled out of the archives, dusted off, and given a hasty firmware update. The USS Valiant represents the new testbed to see how well the system works with modern technology.
